Association between six-minute walk tests with lung diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide in chronic respiratory disease: A cross-sectional study

چکیده
Introduction and Aim: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a heterogeneous disorder that share common clinical, radiographic, physiological features. Most patients with ILD usually experience an exertion – induced dyspnea as first symptom. A noticeable change in oxygen saturation was noticed while exercise. The study objective to ascertain the functional parameter correlates best by comparing age, sex, smoking history different pattern. Materials Methods: proforma (including Six Minute Walk Test Pulmonary Function diffusion capacity) for one-year period (September 2014 - November 2015) taken 40 included participants. includes Lung diseases diagnosed radiological spirometric parameters. tests sensitivity specificity of six-minute walk test versus carbon monoxide diffusing ability. Results: total participants were (19 males 21 females). 12 smokers 28 non-smokers. 20 belonged Usual Pneumonia (UIP) pattern, 14 Non-Specific (NSIP) 6 others. mean±SD parameters FEV1/FVC=101.71±16.752, FVC=55.29±17.322, FEV1=57.66 ± 20.246. Conclusion: There no statistical significance between gender, patterns. Spirometer capacity indices co-relate NSIP pattern our study. In resource limited setting, clinical assessment walking distance spirometry should or need not be supplemented DLCO severity assessment.

متن کاملAssociation Between Emphysema Score, Six-Minute Walk and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Tests in COPD
BACKGROUND High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) has allowed in detection of airway wall abnormalities and emphysema, whose extent may correlate with the clinical severity of the disease in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Six minute walk test (6MWT) and cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) can determine functional status. METHODS A study was undertaken to inve...

Her illness was punctuated by malnutrit...
